The Dana Point Film Festival (DPFF) and FUEL TV have announced a partnership that will extend the festival's ocean-inspired programming to a worldwide audience through a special livestream event on Sunday, November 1, at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. This marks a first for both organizations, connecting surf cinema and ocean storytelling with viewers across the globe from Dana Point, California.

The 90-minute livestream will broadcast live from the Porthole Theater at Dana Hills High School. Viewers can access the event through FUEL TV and SURFERTV, available on major streaming platforms including The Roku Channel, Amazon Prime Video, Samsung TV+, Plex, MyFree DIRECTV, and Sony’s Live TV on PS5. This global distribution network reaches more than 130 countries and approximately 700 million devices worldwide.

The broadcast will feature an encore screening of "Pipeline," a film by Peter King. Preceding the film, a live Q&A session will take place, with SURFER Editor-in-Chief Jake Howard interviewing filmmaker Peter King and a surprise guest. This setup aims to give an international audience a direct look at the festival from one of Southern California’s historically significant surf communities.

Shon Tomlin, DPFF’s Executive Producer & CCO, who also served on FUEL TV’s original executive team, stated that both brands share deep roots in surf culture and a profound respect for the ocean. Tomlin described it as a "natural partnership that brings the spirit of Dana Point" and the ocean-inspired festival to a global stage.

For FUEL TV, the collaboration reaffirms its ongoing commitment to surf filmmaking. Fernando Figueiredo, President and CEO of FUEL TV Global, noted that filmmaking has been a core component of surfing culture for decades. He emphasized FUEL TV's dedication to recognizing and celebrating surf filmmaking since its launch, fostering connections between its international audience and both established and emerging filmmakers. Figueiredo expressed enthusiasm for working with filmmakers to share stories about the excitement, passion, dangers, lifestyle, and social responsibilities inherent in the sport and its participants.

Lloyd Bryan Mölander, Founder and Executive Director of the Dana Point Film Festival, highlighted the event's broader mission. He noted the ocean's power, wonder, and fragility, which residents are reminded of daily. Mölander explained that the films celebrate the adventure and connection the ocean provides while also illuminating challenges to its ecosystems. Through this partnership, the festival aims to inspire more people to appreciate, understand, and protect the world's oceans.

The Dana Point Film Festival, now in its fourth year, is scheduled from October 29 through November 1, 2026. The festival celebrates the ocean through a program of more than 30 films and various community events. It brings together filmmakers, athletes, scientists, conservationists, and ocean enthusiasts who share a connection to the marine environment.

FUEL TV, launched in 2003, serves as the global home for action sports television, providing live events, original series, documentaries, and films across disciplines like skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, skiing, BMX, and motocross. Headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, FUEL TV Global also operates specialized channels such as SURFERTV. The Dana Point Film Festival is recognized as a Gold-level festival by FilmFreeway and operates as a program of Blue Sea 2 Sky, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on ocean awareness, education, and conservation through storytelling and community engagement.
